About The Position

The Head of Enterprise Digital Assets & Tokenization leads S&P Global's central Digital Assets & Tokenization team. The role reports to S&P DJI's Head of Business Acceleration & Special Projects, who oversees the team on behalf of S&P Global's Head of DeFi (Chief Product & Operations Officer, S&P DJI). This lean, senior team has an enterprise mandate to set direction, prioritize investment, unblock divisions, and establish external partnerships that de-risk initiatives. Divisions own delivery and revenue; the central team sets the agenda, sponsors funding, and focuses on achieving in-production outcomes rather than pilots. Delivery capacity comes from divisional execution pods and Kensho engineering. The role begins with two direct reports, with scope to grow as the portfolio warrants. The position owns the day-to-day enterprise digital assets and tokenization strategy, turning it into a prioritized, funded, and sequenced portfolio across divisions. It advances priority initiatives into production with paying customers, creates repeatable processes and playbooks for divisional ownership, and maintains an enterprise-wide view of milestones and dependencies. The role also develops senior external relationships and commercially viable partnerships across onchain capital markets, shapes commercial constructs for onchain distribution, and represents S&P Global with industry stakeholders. Internally, the role convenes the enterprise governance forum, aligns divisions and corporate functions on priorities, and ensures Legal, Risk, and Compliance are engaged as initiatives progress. It leads a small, high-calibre team, builds protocol and AI × blockchain capability across the firm, and advises leaders in a global, matrixed organization, primarily through influence rather than direct authority. The position requires 10+ years of relevant experience, hands-on digital assets experience, and a record of taking businesses, products, or functions from inception to production. The anticipated US base salary range is $185,000 to $265,000, with eligibility for an annual incentive plan and additional S&P Global benefits. Final base salary depends on location, experience, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in capital markets, asset management, financial data and infrastructure, or digital assets, including senior roles with enterprise-wide or firm-building scope.
  • Hands-on experience in digital assets, such as tokenized products, digital asset funds or indices, onchain infrastructure, or the operational and control build-out needed to bring them to market.
  • A track record of establishing businesses, products, or functions from zero to production, including vendor, counterparty, and partner selection, launch, and sustainable operating processes.
  • An established external network across onchain-native firms and traditional financial institutions, with the credibility to establish and maintain senior relationships.
  • Commercial judgment and experience building business cases, structuring partnerships and commercial terms, and making disciplined investment decisions.
  • Demonstrated success aligning competing priorities and stakeholders across independent business units and delivering through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Executive-level communication skills, including the ability to brief senior leaders and external principals clearly and to challenge as well as partner.
  • Comfort operating within regulatory, legal, and compliance constraints and partnering with control functions to move quickly without creating exposure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience launching regulated, index-linked, or benchmark-linked products, or working with ratings, reference data, identifiers, or index production.
  • Technical fluency in blockchain architecture, smart contracts, and onchain data sufficient to engage substantively with engineering teams and partners; hands-on engineering experience is not required.
  • Experience building and scaling small teams and handing capability over to larger organizations.
  • Exposure to board-, investment committee-, or council-level governance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise digital assets and tokenization strategy day-to-day and translate it into a prioritized, funded, and sequenced portfolio across divisions.
  • Run a single intake for divisional requests and enterprise opportunities; apply and improve screening criteria and stage gates covering readiness, resources, partner commitment, and regulatory sensitivity.
  • Co-own and sponsor business cases for enterprise and divisional investment, recommending what to start, hold, or stop.
  • Maintain an evidence-based view of tokenization economics, onchain market structure, and the AI × blockchain intersection to anticipate client demand.
  • Drive priority initiatives to in-production status with paying customers, augmenting divisional teams where capacity, depth, or delivery capability is lacking.
  • Appoint an accountable owner for each opportunity, empower them to execute, and remove obstacles they cannot resolve themselves.
  • Build playbooks, trained teams, and repeatable processes that divisions can own after a time-boxed central handover.
  • Maintain a live enterprise view of initiative milestones, decisions, and dependencies; reduce duplication and connect complementary work across divisions.
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with onchain-native platforms, issuers, protocols, infrastructure providers, banks, asset managers, and market infrastructure firms.
  • Negotiate partnerships that include co-investment, commitments to production use, and requirements that fit counterparties' workflows.
  • Shape commercial constructs for onchain distribution, including consumption and per-call economics, licensing terms, and pricing models for agent- and protocol-mediated consumption, in partnership with divisional commercial and legal teams.
  • Represent S&P Global at conferences, standards bodies, working groups, industry consortia, and in direct engagement with founders, investors, and executives.
  • Convene and run the enterprise digital assets governance forum, preparing materials and framing decisions for senior sponsors.
  • Align divisions, corporate functions, and enterprise leadership on priorities and resolve competing interests and sequencing trade-offs.
  • Keep Legal, Risk, and Compliance informed and run a fast checkpoint before initiatives move from exploration to pilot or commitment.
  • Escalate opportunities, emerging risks, and decisions to stop initiatives to the governing council with clear recommendations.
  • Lead and grow a small, high-calibre team, setting expectations for ownership, pace, and evidence-based argument.
  • Work with talent and engineering leadership, including Kensho, to build protocol and AI × blockchain capability across the firm.
  • Advise divisional and enterprise leaders on trade-offs, technology, and commercial considerations, operating across a global matrix primarily through influence.
