About The Position

Laminar is seeking a Head of Deployments to build and lead the organization responsible for ensuring every Laminar deployment transitions from a signed commitment to successful completion, meeting agreed-upon success criteria predictably, repeatably, and at scale. This role involves owning the deployment portfolio, the team that delivers it, and the speed and quality of execution across customers, plants, and geographies. The Head of Deployments will establish the people, leaders, processes, playbooks, partners, KPIs, resource model, and operating cadence necessary to manage numerous deployments concurrently without bottlenecks. Key responsibilities include setting goals, forecasting capacity, allocating resources, reviewing project portfolio health, removing systemic blockers, and intervening in strategic customer situations or escalations. The ideal candidate possesses plant-floor credibility and executive presence, with a practical understanding of industrial technology installation, integration, validation, and adoption in complex manufacturing settings. This experience will be leveraged to standardize, partner-enable, and scale Laminar's deployment model from individual lines to global enterprise rollouts. Collaboration with the Value Realization team is crucial to ensure deployments are delivered in a manner that enables measurement and validation of agreed-upon customer outcomes.

Requirements

  • Built and led a deployment, professional services, field engineering, implementation, or similar organization.
  • Hired, coached, and developed teams capable of running multiple complex deployments in parallel without direct oversight for every decision.
  • Direct experience deploying technology on the shop floor of large enterprise manufacturers, with an understanding of plant operations, engineering, quality, IT/OT, installation, validation, and adoption.
  • Managed a portfolio of complex, multi-site or global deployments with committed timelines, competing resource demands, and executive visibility.
  • Created repeatable deployment processes, playbooks, metrics, and operating cadences that improved speed, predictability, and quality as volume increased.
  • Strong skills in resource and capacity planning, translating pipeline and rollout demand into staffing, partner, and hiring requirements.
  • Ability to translate account success criteria into clear deployment requirements.
  • Credible communication with plant leaders, VPs of Operations, and C-level sponsors.
  • Willingness to travel internationally to customer sites for major rollouts, operating reviews, and escalations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in process manufacturing, food & beverage, brewing, CPG, chemicals, pharma, or similar continuous/batch environments.
  • Background at an industrial IoT, automation, manufacturing software, or operational technology company, or as an operator in continuous improvement / operational excellence / digital manufacturing.
  • Experience building partner-enabled delivery models using system integrators, installers, or other third-party implementation capacity.
  • Fluency in plant-floor metrics such as OEE, yield, throughput, first-pass quality, capacity, utility consumption, material loss, and downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop the deployment organization, including recruiting, coaching, and developing Field Deployment Engineers (FDEs), Program Managers, and future team leaders.
  • Define roles, ownership, performance expectations, and career paths to foster organizational growth and strength.
  • Own the deployment portfolio, managing priorities, timelines, dependencies, risks, and escalations across active deployments.
  • Establish a consistent cadence for portfolio reviews, risk management, retrospectives, and executive reporting.
  • Build the Laminar Deployment System by creating repeatable processes, stage gates, customer-readiness requirements, checklists, templates, acceptance criteria, escalation paths, tooling, and playbooks.
  • Set goals and manage the business using KPIs, defining a deployment scorecard that includes cycle time, milestone and schedule adherence, backlog, quality, productivity, and attainment of agreed success criteria.
  • Own capacity and resource planning, forecasting deployment demand, team capacity, skills coverage, geographic needs, and hiring requirements.
  • Allocate resources across projects, balance utilization, and determine where partners can extend Laminar's capacity.
  • Build a scalable partner model by operationalizing system integrators and mechanical/electrical implementers with clear ownership, qualification standards, handoffs, training, and quality controls.
  • Lead strategic governance and escalations, engaging plant leaders and senior executives to align on rollout plans, resolve blockers, and defend results.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to reduce deployment friction at the source.
  • Partner with Value Realization to ensure deployments meet success criteria and enable the measurement and validation of customer impact.
