About The Position

Trove is a collectibles startup that quickly reached profitability with a small team of talented, dedicated people. What got us here won’t take us where we need to go, and we’re looking for a Head of Finance to help guide the business and support our fast pace of growth. We’re an early stage B2C business, backed by top tier VCs, athletes, and celebrities, built by founders who have scaled and exited multiple startups. We are a gamified e-commerce platform for cards & collectibles that offers digitized access to physical inventory. We have grown significantly faster than expected and are profitable. This will be our first full time finance hire and you’ll build as a team of one, for now. Our tech stack includes Brex, Metabase, and Digits. We have about 10 full time employees and a number of contractors spread out across the US, Canada, Europe, and South America. You're the first person to own this function so it’s a real opportunity to build from scratch and put your imprint on the business. You’re not inheriting someone else’s systems or playbook. You’ll operate as a strategic partner, helping us responsibly unlock resources to meet aggressive goals. The job is to build the guardrails that let the business move fast and stay profitable, not to be the person everyone has to convince. We want someone who thinks creatively, moves quickly, and knows how to start simple and scale.

Requirements

• Owned FP&A for at least 7 years.
• Worked in e-commerce or gaming with digital or physical inventory.
• Been the first finance hire, building vs inheriting the function.
• Successfully transformed the finance function via the implementation of AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Build the finance function from scratch.
• Operate as a strategic partner to help responsibly unlock resources.
• Build guardrails that allow the business to move fast and stay profitable.
• Establish a single source of truth for the core financial stack.
• Develop rolling forecasts and conduct reviews around monthly profit.
• Support conversations about where to invest next.
• Ensure the team knows where the business stands at all times and what key metrics should be.
