About The Position

At Vanta, our mission is to help businesses earn and prove trust. We believe that security should be monitored and verified continuously, and we empower companies to practice better security and prove it with ease. Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it. As the Head of Data & Analytics, you will deliver key business insights by leading (1) a team of analysts that embed across EPD squads and (2) the team responsible for Vanta’s analytics and data platform - owning the architecture, ingestion, modeling, and governance that power all internal data use cases. The mission of Vanta’s Data team is to deliver insights that impact every part of Vanta’s business via a world-class AI-powered data infrastructure. The role requires strong subject matter expertise in how SaaS companies and their businesses work at scale, and a strong engineering and technical architecture mindset. We seek a leader who excels at delivering critical insights for our Product teams; collaborates effectively with analytics teams in Marketing, Revenue, Finance, and other functions; partners closely with Vanta’s Leadership team; and drives operational effectiveness in how we build and scale our data infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics, and a track record of leading high performing teams in these areas
  • A demonstrated depth of subject matter expertise in SaaS, running the gamut from product-led growth and startups to sales-led growth and large enterprises
  • A deep understanding of modern data stacks (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, etc.), data modeling, and integration frameworks to build a reliable, scalable analytics foundation, and the ability to build out and lead a team of Data Engineers doing this work
  • Skill in translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that shape Vanta’s direction, strategy, and priorities, and the ability to build out and lead a strong centralized team of subject matter expert Analysts and Data Scientists (ideally where these individuals provide embedded support to client teams)
  • A strong engineering and automation-driven approach to systems architecture, and experience using systems automation and AI to drive efficiency in business staffing
  • Experience establishing unified data definitions, governance processes, and mappings that ensure a single source of truth across systems and teams
  • Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Vanta’s company-wide data infrastructure strategy — setting the vision for how data is collected, governed, and used to drive outcomes.
  • Partner with executives and functional leaders across Product, Marketing, Revenue, and Finance to align data priorities with business goals.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across Vanta through effective storytelling and clear communication
