About The Position

MarketAxess is seeking a commercially minded, technically fluent product leader to own the product strategy and delivery for its data and analytics product suite. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining products that support business goals including revenue growth, client acquisition, and competitive differentiation. The successful candidate will lead the product lifecycle across the full data and analytics portfolio, with a particular focus on two strategic priorities: leveraging MarketAxess' proprietary data assets to innovate new products and expanding distribution through modern cloud channels.

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in product management within financial data, market data, analytics, or capital markets technology.
  • Experience with cloud-native data distribution (AWS S3, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar) and modern data formats (Parquet, Iceberg).
  • Deep understanding of fixed income markets, bond transparency, and regulatory data frameworks (TRACE, TRAX, MiFID II, CTP).
  • Proven track record of building and scaling data and analytics products with measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Experience managing and developing product teams.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to partner effectively on product positioning, packaging, and go-to-market decisions.
  • Technical fluency - able to engage meaningfully with engineering, data science, and quantitative teams without being a developer.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience navigating dual reporting lines and working across product, commercial, and technology functions.
  • Experience with agile delivery frameworks (SAFe or similar) in a scaled product organization.
  • Foundational AI fluency and a genuine desire to develop deeper AI expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Set and execute the data and analytics product roadmap in alignment with the priorities set by the Head of Data Business and Regional Head of Products.
  • Identify opportunities to derive new analytics products from MarketAxess' proprietary data assets and publicly available financial data.
  • Close the gap between raw data capability and client-ready analytics by packaging existing models and datasets into named, positioned products with clear client use cases.
  • Build business cases for new products and leverage governance processes to gain approval and sponsorship.
  • Champion the use of AI and automation to improve product development velocity, production support efficiency, and client experience.
  • Identify practical AI-enabled tooling opportunities that improve internal product workflows and team effectiveness.
  • Continuously monitor the competitive landscape, regulatory environment, and evolving client needs to inform product direction.
  • Own the market data and analytics product families including API and GUI interaction layers where relevant.
  • Partner with MarketAxess Research to explore the potential of new models and data views for productization.
  • Expand the analytics product footprint beyond front-office use cases into mid/back-office, quant, data science, and risk communities to broaden the total addressable market.
  • Drive enhancements to market data products in line with evolving regulatory frameworks (FCA, ESMA, CTP) and client demand.
  • Own the data distribution product strategy, with a mandate to modernize and scale how clients access and interact with MarketAxess data, across delivery channels and client segments.
  • Lead integration with cloud providers including Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS Data Exchange to enable scalable external delivery and open new client segments (hedge funds, quants, data scientists).
  • Ensure distribution supports modern formats (Parquet, Iceberg) alongside legacy CSV and covers both real-time and historical delivery use cases.
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for all data and analytics products - execution across discovery, delivery, launch, and in-market product management for the portfolio.
  • Define MVPs, manage backlogs, and drive prioritization in collaboration with engineering, research, and the data strategist function.
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies with trading products, post-trade, and platform engineering teams.
  • Ensure rigorous product governance, documentation, and quality standards across all products.
  • Partner with the Head of Data Business and sales teams to enable revenue growth through sales enablement materials, client analytics, and direct client engagement.
  • Provide product expertise to support pricing decisions, packaging design, and enterprise deal structuring - but commercial accountability sits with the Head of Data Business.
  • Define the post-launch support model, including service ownership, escalation paths, and feedback loops into the roadmap.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of product managers, analysts, and associates across data and analytics product verticals.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Set team goals and development plans that reinforce accountability and support execution against strategic priorities.
