About The Position

Lumafield is seeking an experienced and energetic leader to elevate its brand presence. The company, which builds industrial X-ray CT scanners and physical AI software, is looking to make its brand as famous as its scans among key decision-makers, including VPs and C-level leaders in engineering, manufacturing, and quality, as well as investors, policymakers, and potential hires. This senior leadership role involves managing a growing, high-performing team and driving the company's narrative through owned editorial, external communications, social media, and overall brand expression.

Requirements

  • Evidence of excellent, highly-effective work in past roles, with a preference for candidates with at least 10 years of experience, though exceptional candidates earlier in their careers will be considered.
  • Published work that demonstrates a track record of changing how a technically complex company is perceived, with the ability to articulate results and strategies.
  • Established media relationships with reporters, hosts, newsletter writers, and podcast producers who can be contacted for responses.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn a hard technical domain and engage in meaningful conversations with engineers within a month.
  • Effective management experience, including directing the creative output of employees, contractors, or agencies to produce outstanding work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as the voice behind a founder or executive, drafting in their voice and creating a platform.
  • Experience building an owned media property (podcast, newsletter, publication, or recurring report) that found an audience.
  • Existing access and relationships within the physical AI, advanced manufacturing, or defense-industrial sectors, including conference producers, podcast hosts, and panel organizers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the company narrative, creating a concise argument about Lumafield's value proposition for reporters, enterprise buyers, and investors.
  • Lead earned media efforts, securing company-level coverage in top-tier business and tech press, and supporting journalist and creator scan-support work.
  • Manage the CEO platform and executive visibility, including ghostwriting, preparation, booking, op-eds, podcasts, and stage time.
  • Secure speaking engagements and conference placements in relevant industry events, and recruit top-tier guests for internal panel discussions.
  • Provide strategic direction for owned editorial, including the Go/No-Go podcast and First Article, ensuring content drives business objectives.
  • Oversee creative direction, brand identity, and website experience, directing video and social media programs.
  • Manage and develop a team of three creatives, including two direct reports and one immediate hire.
