Head of Clinical

HeraNew York, NY
Hybrid

About The Position

Hera is creating a new profession in healthcare called the Hero, a dedicated care manager for families. Heroes educate, coordinate, and advocate for the most vulnerable populations, focusing on older adults recently discharged from the hospital, those with dementia, and individuals managing multiple medications and specialists. The company aims to provide care worthy of one's own parents, serving as a trusted guide in a system that often leaves families to navigate complex healthcare needs alone. Hera is covered by insurance and seeks to serve every family in America. This role is crucial for defining and delivering exceptional care standards.

Requirements

  • Physician (MD required), board certified in internal medicine, geriatrics, or family medicine.
  • Hold an active, unrestricted license and ability to obtain licensure in additional states.
  • 7+ years of experience caring for complex, high-acuity patients (geriatrics preferred).
  • Deep understanding of hospital discharges, polypharmacy, and dementia.
  • 5+ years of experience leading clinical teams and owning outcomes.
  • Experience building care models, protocols, and oversight systems.
  • Experience managing clinicians and care teams at scale.
  • Experience delivering care beyond the four walls (virtual, home-based, or hybrid care models).
  • Ability to maintain clinical quality when care happens remotely.
  • Builder mentality; prefers defining the rubric over inheriting one.
  • Rigorous about what's working and measurement.
  • Willingness to do the unglamorous work of getting details right.
  • Belief that software is a clinical tool and excitement about encoding clinical judgment into a product.
  • Ability to build trust quickly with partners.
  • Based in NYC or willing to relocate.
