Head of Business Operations

VehoNew York City, NY

About The Position

Veho is seeking a Head of Business Operations to serve as the company's internal execution engine. This role involves owning the operating rhythm that aligns the company on its priorities and leading high-priority cross-functional efforts. The position requires managing the OKR and business planning cadence, ensuring alignment on short-, mid-, and long-term priorities, and leading 'tiger teams' to address critical problems that span functions and lack a clear owner. This is a builder-operator role focused on driving durable fixes with speed and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of total experience.
  • Strong foundation in management consulting.
  • Meaningful experience in Strategy & Operations or BizOps at a high-growth company.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving concrete operational outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience owning a planning or OKR process, or a clear analog.
  • Fluency using AI tools to accelerate analysis, reporting, and execution.
  • Process builder: ability to productize everything and turn one-off efforts into repeatable, scalable systems.
  • First-principles problem solver: ability to break down unfamiliar problems to their fundamentals.
  • Clear communicator: ability to create pre-reads and recommendations that facilitate easy decision-making for leaders.
  • Analytically rigorous: comfortable building models, dashboards, and KPI frameworks.
  • Strong cross-functional operator: ability to earn influence and drive outcomes through teams not directly owned.
  • Bias toward action: operate with urgency and make calls with imperfect information, then adjust.
  • Willingness to get hands dirty and go to the front line to find the right answers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a company with physical or logistical operations (logistics, supply chain, marketplaces, on-demand).

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end OKR process: drafting, leadership alignment, quarterly tracking, and ensuring team goals connect to company priorities.
  • Run the planning cadence: sequence short-, mid-, and long-term planning cycles, define inputs and outputs, and keep the process on track.
  • Build operating infrastructure: create templates, trackers, and dashboards to make the planning rhythm repeatable and scalable.
  • Drive decisions by producing pre-reads and decision-forcing content for senior leaders.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to leadership, translating ambiguous priorities into actionable plans and operational data into key insights.
  • Stand up and lead tiger teams on high-priority cross-functional problems that span functions and lack a clear owner.
  • Define the scope and success criteria for tiger team initiatives and drive them to resolution.
  • Diagnose root causes from first principles by going to where the work happens (e.g., warehouse, route, dock, raw data).
  • Manage tiger team workplans, including milestones, owners, cadence, and blocker removal.
  • Ensure durable solutions are handed off to permanent owners to maintain problem resolution and value capture.
  • Build stakeholder relationships through competence and follow-through, not title.
  • Surface problems and bad news early.

Benefits

  • Competitive equity package
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k)
  • Unlimited PTO for exempt-level roles
