About The Position

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology invites applications for the position of Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach. This position offers an opportunity to provide visionary leadership for a collegiate golf program, driving its growth and long-term success while fostering a strong, positive team culture built on accountability, connection, and a shared commitment to excellence. The role emphasizes developing student-athletes both individually and collectively, and cultivating an environment of integrity, high performance, and academic excellence. Through effective leadership, the successful candidate will empower student-athletes to excel academically, athletically, and personally, both on and off the field. As Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach, you will provide leadership in recruiting and cultivate a competitive golf program that delivers a positive and impactful student‑athlete experience. You will serve as a visible ambassador for the Institute, enhancing public relations and program exposure while preparing the team for HCAC and non‑conference competition with the goal of achieving national competitiveness. You will ensure full compliance with all NCAA, HCAC, and Institute policies while planning and directing comprehensive team and individual training programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a sports related field and two to three years playing and/or coaching experience OR a bachelor’s degree in a non-sports related field and four to five years playing and/or coaching experience
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable MVR (motor vehicle report)

Responsibilities

  • Leading team practices and conditioning sessions
  • Evaluating student‑athlete performance
  • Determining competitive participation
  • Scouting opponents
  • Developing game strategies
  • Supervising an Assistant Coach
  • Collaborating closely with athletic trainers and departmental staff, including equipment, sports information, and facilities personnel
  • Leading all aspects of recruiting by identifying, evaluating, and managing prospective student‑athletes through a comprehensive, year‑round recruitment strategy
  • Conducting official and unofficial visits
  • Evaluating high school, club, and collegiate programs domestically and internationally
  • Finalizing athlete selections aligned with program goals and institutional values
  • Supporting student‑athletes’ academic achievement
  • Facilitating connections with campus and departmental resources
  • Serving as a departmental spokesperson
  • Providing leadership within the local community and beyond
  • Overseeing team scheduling, logistics, and extensive travel planning, including transportation of student‑athletes and equipment
  • Managing the program’s budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility
  • Making purchasing recommendations to the Athletic Director
  • Cultivating relationships with alumni and supporters
  • Collaborating with the Office of Institutional Advancement to support fundraising efforts
  • Modeling exemplary sportsmanship, professionalism, and ethical conduct in alignment with the mission and values of Rose‑Hulman Institute of Technology
