About The Position

As a member of the Diesel Division in POD 70 Head Machining, you are primarily responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to repairing parts and creating new, either in groups or individually. Machinists must prepare by checking specifications. Associates will calculate how to shape the piece of metal or other material that is being worked on and decide what tools are necessary. Machinists place work pieces on the tool of choice and set the controls to ensure precision cuts. While the machine is working, the Associate will watch carefully for any problems and monitor the speed and heat of the machine. Head machinists place the cylinder head in various pieces of equipment to perform the necessary machining to produce a finished cylinder head. The associate must pay special attention to the product and the piece of equipment in order to achieve the desired outcome.

Requirements

• Associate must be detail oriented and able to maintain focus on job tasks.
• Associate must be able to use a computer and have suitable math skills to complete job functions.
• Hands-on position.
• Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be approx... 8-10 hours).
• Ability to use handheld tools such as Hammer, punches.
