About The Position

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort has a Lead Turf Equipment Technician position. The position will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of turf and landscape equipment. This individual’s responsibility is to effectively maintain a fleet of turf equipment and its facilities. The head equipment technician is responsible to the Equipment Manager and Golf Course Superintendent.

Requirements

Working knowledge of all turf and landscape equipment functions, systems and safety. (Cutting unit set-up, hydraulic theory and diagnosis, electrical theory and diagnosis, combustion engines, welding, etc.)
Ability to utilize various trade tools and the safety guidelines of their use.
Ability to move heavy objects.
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Basic understanding of the game of golf and the effects this position has on the overall condition and playability of the game.
The ability to communicate on a professional level with staff, vendors, members, and guests daily.
Must be fluent in English and possess legal work authorization in the United States.

Responsibilities

Maintain a preventive maintenance program with accurate record keeping.
Trains and instructs assistant technicians on the maintenance and diagnosis of all equipment in the fleet.
Adheres to all health, safety and environmental regulations. (Proper disposal of waste oils, tires, etc.)
Organizes daily repair and maintenance schedules.
Trains equipment operators on the safe operation and daily requirements of operating equipment.
Responsible for the organization and care of the equipment facilities.
Completes daily course checks to insure cut quality and proper operation of equipment.
Assists in the purchasing and selection of new turf and/or landscape equipment.
