About The Position

The Head Custodian coordinates and performs custodial and maintenance duties to protect and preserve the school building, grounds, equipment, and furnishings. The position keeps the director of buildings and grounds informed about maintenance concerns and emerging issues. The role is based at Crim Elementary and is scheduled for the first shift, Monday through Friday. The starting wage is $19.82 per hour, and the start date is as soon as possible after Board of Education approval.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.
• Custodial and/or building maintenance experience.
• Basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply blueprint and schematic diagram information.
• Knowledge of building codes, accessibility guidelines, safety regulations, and environmental laws.
• Knowledge of microelectronics and other HVAC control systems.
• Hold or be qualified to obtain a low-pressure operators license.
• Proficiency in boiler operations and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Availability to respond to building and/or service emergencies.

Nice To Haves

• Post-secondary training in a trade is desirable.
