Head Custodian II
About The Position
Under the direction of a Principal, Assistant Principal, or designee, the Head Custodian II plans, assigns, and supervises the work of lower custodial classes and personally performs routine cleaning and maintenance in District schools, as well as related work as required. The position has complete cleaning and maintenance responsibility for a large school plant and supervises several employees. Incumbents are working supervisors who also perform many duties assigned to lower custodial classes. Work schedules may include swing and/or night shifts, with some shift rotation. The position requires three years of increasingly responsible custodial experience, including one year supervising custodial work, and education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Upon a conditional offer, candidates must complete DOJ and FBI criminal background checks, provide a TB test dated within the prior 60 days, complete District-mandated training, and undergo a District pre-employment physical evaluation with a minimum 50-pound requirement.
Requirements
- Three years of increasingly responsible experience in custodial work.
- One year of experience supervising custodial work.
- Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
- Complete DOJ and FBI criminal background checks upon conditional offer of employment.
- Provide a TB test within the last 60 days upon conditional offer of employment.
- Complete District-mandated training, including Mandated Reporter and Sexual Harassment training.
- Pass a District pre-employment physical evaluation with a minimum 50-pound requirement.
