About The Position

The Head Coach (Wrestling) is responsible for providing students with a broad and comprehensive co-curricular program, promoting student interest and encouraging participation. This role involves leadership and supervision of the entire wrestling program, including assistant coaches and team members, both on and off the field and during travel. The coach will also manage equipment recommendations, ensure adherence to eligibility and sportsmanship rules, and coordinate the wrestling program with assistant coaches.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the entire wrestling program, including assistant coaches.
  • Oversee the conduct of team members on and off the playing field, and during road trips.
  • Recommend equipment for purchase to the athletic director.
  • Ensure candidates for athletic squads are certified by a physician and parent before participating.
  • Adhere to rules of eligibility and sportsmanship as outlined by the PIAA and any participating league.
  • Recommend hiring and retention of all sport staff personnel annually to the athletic director.
  • Meet with the athletic director within thirty days of season completion to review the past season.
  • Coordinate with assistant coaches on the basic wrestling program and ensure its implementation.
