About The Position

The Head Coach for Women's Golf reports to the Director of Athletics and the Director of Golf Programming. The Women’s Head Golf Coach will be responsible for all activities related to the academic, athletic, social and spiritual success of Lipscomb University’s women’s golf program. Responsibilities: Works routinely requires team work and cooperation with numerous individuals and groups, (Briefly describe how and why you work with teams.) - Coach of women's intercollegiate golf team, occasional coordination with the men's program, expected involvement in University Athletics initiatives, work with recruits, other coaches, etc. Recruiting – Leading the recruitment of qualified student-athletes who are a fit for Lipscomb University through correspondence with student athletes identified as prospects, attendance at selected events for evaluation of prospects, establishing positive relationships with coaches and others in the golf community in order to assist in evaluations, use of rankings, video and other means of determining golfing ability, organizing and conducting recruiting visits, as needed. All of this will be done in strict compliance with NCAA, ASUN and Lipscomb University rules and regulations. Operational duties – To include scheduling and travel arrangements for practices, matches and other women’s golf related events; ordering of equipment and other items as needed for women’s golf; other operational or managerial responsibilities as needed. All of this will be done in strict compliance with NCAA, ASUN and Lipscomb University rules and regulations. Coaching duties – practice planning, organization and coaching; match planning, in-match coaching and match management; counseling student-athletes and promoting their academic, civic, and spiritual progress. All of this will be done in strict compliance with NCAA, ASUN and Lipscomb University rules and regulations. Fundraising and Promotion – Assisting with promotion of attendance and awareness and fundraising activities related to the women’s golf program, Lipscomb University Athletics and Lipscomb University as a whole. Activities may include: participation in information gathering, contacting parents and other potential donors, meeting with potential donors or sponsors, assisting the Director of Athletics, Director of Golf or other Development personnel with fundraising activities. Community Building Activities – As directed by Director of Golf or Director of Athletics, assistance in directing Lipscomb University women’s golf’s involvement with golf club and practice partners on program-improvement projects and initiatives, camp opportunities, fundraising, development and cultivation opportunities for the University, community awareness programming, campus engagement and other opportunities as may arise that will benefit Lipscomb University Athletics and the University as a whole.
