About The Position

The Assistant Coach - Women's Basketball will assist in preparing student-athletes for competition by providing skill development and instruction. This role involves recruiting qualified student-athletes, coordinating team and staff travel, managing team and facility schedules, and maintaining budget expenditure documents. The position also includes supervising graduate managers and managers, promoting Christian character, teamwork, and a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in coaching collegiate basketball and/or high school basketball
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Synergy Sports, Sports Code, Fastdraw, Teamworks and ARI software
  • Must be self-motivated with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Lots of nights and overnight travel throughout the year

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at Lipscomb University or like institutions
  • Three (3) years of experience in coaching collegiate basketball and/or high school basketball
  • Master’s Degree in Sports Administration, Coaching, Education or a Behavioral Science

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing student-athletes for competition through skill development and instruction in individual settings, group workouts, team workouts, practices, and competition.
  • Assist with signing qualified student-athletes who fit the mission and vision of the university and help improve the women’s basketball program by identifying, evaluating, and building relationships with prospects and coaches.
  • Coordinate all aspects of team travel and staff travel for recruiting and professional development.
  • Maintain team schedules and facility schedules for women’s basketball, using appropriate software and working with other members of the athletic department.
  • Maintain real-time budget expenditure documents for travel and recruiting and perform expense reporting for the women’s basketball program.
  • Supervise, where applicable, graduate managers and managers.
  • Lead in a way that exhibits Christian character, promotes teamwork, and encourages a positive, efficient work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
