About The Position

Reporting to the Head Basketball Coach, the Assistant Strength Coach for Women's Basketball will be directly responsible for the strength and conditioning program within the Women's Basketball program. This role involves developing and implementing individualized strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes in cooperation with the Women's Basketball staff. The coach will also conduct physical screenings and assessments, implement corrective exercises, and ensure the proper maintenance and operation of the weight room facilities and equipment. Adherence to all university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations is required. Collaboration with various athletic support staff, including athletic training, sports nutrition, and other strength and conditioning personnel, is essential.

Requirements

  • Maintain National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
  • Maintain Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach certification (RSCC).
  • Work cooperatively with the Men's Basketball staff to develop and implement individualized strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes.
  • Work closely with Men's Basketball staff, Strength and Conditioning staff, Athletic training staff and sports nutrition staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Kinexon or similar performance-improvement / injury-reduction technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for the strength and conditioning program within the Women's Basketball program.
  • Develop and implement individualized strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes in cooperation with the Women's Basketball staff.
  • Conduct physical screening/assessment of individual student-athletes and implement customized, corrective exercises.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment, including weight machines and other strength and conditioning equipment, including regular inspection, recommendation on repair/replacement as necessary.
  • Assist in managing, supervising and controlling the operation of the weight room.
  • Work cooperatively with the Athletic Training staff to support the injury prevention and/or rehabilitation of Lipscomb University student-athletes.
  • Execute all duties and responsibilities within Lipscomb University, ASUN Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned are consistent with position and qualifications.
