About The Position

The Head Men's Tennis Coach will administer, organize and coach the varsity Men's Tennis team. This role involves teaching, coaching, training, and motivating student-athletes to perform at the highest level, while fostering an environment that supports personal growth, integrity, diversity, leadership, sportsmanship, and athletic and academic excellence. The coach will also be responsible for recruiting student-athletes, managing program operations, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations, and fostering the growth of the Drexel Tennis community through fundraising and outreach.

Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience coaching at the collegiate level or the equivalent.
Strong written, organization and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a student-athlete at the collegiate or professional level.
Demonstrated ability to teach and instruct the skills and techniques of Tennis.
An understanding of the role of competitive sports in a dynamic university setting.
Proven ability to provide strong leadership in assisting in managing the complexities of a competitive team.

Responsibilities

Assist in teaching, coaching, training and motivating men's student-athletes to perform at the highest level through organized team and individual sessions.
Foster an environment within the Men's Tennis program that supports the department mission of personal growth and integrity, diversity, leadership, sportsmanship and a commitment to athletic and academic excellence.
Select and successfully recruit student-athletes that meet the needs and growth of the program, department and institution.
Work effectively with administrators, staff and coaches within the department of athletics to operate effectively within the structure of the organization.
Communicate with all constituents of the program including staff, faculty, students, parents, alumni and friends.
Monitor academic progress of Student-athletes.
Manage the program operations including officials, transportation, practices, preseason, videotaping, etc. of men's program.
Ensure compliance with all University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Foster growth of the men's tennis through fundraising and outreach.
Work to foster growth of the Drexel Tennis community.
