About The Position

This position is for a Head Coach for JV Softball at Cactus High School in Glendale, AZ. The role involves coaching student-athletes, managing team activities, and adhering to school district and AIA regulations. The position is open until filled.

Requirements

Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Fundamentals of Coaching" course, or approved equivalent (AIA Rule 17.1).
Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Concussion in Sports ï¿½ What You Need to Know" course (AIA Rule 17.1).
An Arizona Teaching Certificate OR an Arizona Coaching Certificate OR a certificate verifying completion of a sport-specific course (AIA Rule 17.1.2).
Current Certification in CPR and First Aid.
Knowledge of essential skills, techniques, rules, and safety concerns for the sport to be coached.
Skill in communicating with all stakeholders.
Knowledge necessary to adhere to rules set out by AIA (www.aiaonline.org) and Peoria Unified School District #11.
Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Experience with online platforms like MaxPreps and HUDL.

Responsibilities

Coach student-athletes in the essential skills, techniques, rules, and safety concerns for softball.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including players, parents, and school administration.
Adhere to rules set out by AIA and Peoria Unified School District #11.
Attend mandatory school district and AIA meetings.
Establish a sense of camaraderie among players through teambuilding, fundraising, and service projects.
Utilize online platforms required for specific sports like MaxPreps, HUDL, and others.
Potentially drive students to and from competitions.
