About The Position

Haddam Killingworth High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead its Girls Lacrosse program for the upcoming season. This seasonal position is responsible for developing student-athletes’ skills and abilities while fostering a positive and competitive team environment. The coach will work with players, families, school officials, other coaches, and staff to support the success and well-being of the team and broader athletic program.

Requirements

• Previous lacrosse coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or higher.
• Strong understanding of lacrosse rules, strategies, and training techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to achieve their potential.
• First Aid and CPR certification is preferred; willingness to obtain certification before the season is required.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
• Must pass a background check and comply with all school district requirements.
• Availability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends during the season.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive training program to enhance student-athletes’ skills and performance.
• Organize and conduct daily practices and drills focused on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
• Plan and schedule games, practices, and team events in collaboration with school administration.
• Foster a positive team culture emphasizing respect, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
• Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school officials about team expectations, schedules, and player development.
• Monitor student-athletes’ academic progress and well-being, helping them balance athletics and academics.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote the overall success of the athletic program.
• Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to support individual and team improvement.
• Ensure compliance with league and school policies, including safety protocols and eligibility requirements.
• Organize fundraising and community outreach activities to support the lacrosse program.

Benefits
