About The Position

Head Clerks create a welcoming environment and maintain a clean, well-stocked store that encourages customers to return for great deals and service. The role involves customer service, handling cashiering issues, maintaining store safety and cleanliness, stocking and inventory work, merchandise display preparation, and miscellaneous office duties. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people, works well under pressure, balances managerial duties, is inquisitive, and has a positive, can-do attitude.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
Ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
Must pass a drug and background check.
Flexible schedule.
Previous grocery or retail experience.
Ability to work harmoniously with others as a team member and leader.
Passion for serving people.
Interact positively with customers, associates, truck drivers, and vendors.

Nice To Haves

Prior bookkeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Interact with customers and answer questions with kindness and enthusiasm.
Respond promptly to customer and co-worker requests, complaints, and problems.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly store in compliance with GOI guidelines and procedures.
Review and accept customer checks, overrides, voids, and other cashiering-related issues.
Unload product from trucks, organize the stock room, fill assigned sales-floor areas, and operate backroom equipment such as pallet jacks and balers.
Take merchandise inventory and replenish or order products as needed.
Prepare merchandise for display.
Perform miscellaneous office duties, including handling incoming and outgoing mail and ordering product.
Enforce company policies, procedures, and programs to help keep customers and employees safe, happy, and healthy.
