About The Position

The Head Cashier is responsible for managing large sums of money and chips, opening and closing banks for all casino departments, providing cashiers with add-banks, giving breaks, balancing vault and chip money logs, and calling in replacement cashiers when needed. This role also involves maintaining logs when a manager is out, ensuring cashiers swap correctly, making sound check-cashing decisions, and performing coachings or active disciplines. The Head Cashier will also perform other assigned duties and responsibilities. This position requires sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures, regular attendance and punctuality, and the ability to work any scheduled hour changes. The Head Cashier will serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel and encourage others to do the same.

Requirements

Experience as a Cage Cashier.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of authorized personnel entering vault, man trap and till count room.
Knowledge of handling difficult situations.
Able to work well with all employees.
Able to learn new ways to get people in and out of vault in less time.
Able to fix equipment such as Jetsort and money containers.
Sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures.
Regular attendance and punctuality.
Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.

Responsibilities

Accountable for very large sums of money and chips.
Open and close banks for every department in the casino.
Give addbanks to cashiers.
Give breaks.
Balance vault and chip money logs.
Call in replacement cashiers when needed.
Keep log when manager is out.
Make sure cashiers swap right.
Make wise check cashing decisions with regards to customers.
Perform Coachings or Active Disciplines when needed.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel, and encourage others to do the same.
