About The Position

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking a Head Baseball Coach to lead its intercollegiate baseball program. This role involves coaching, recruiting, academic monitoring, scheduling, fundraising, and public relations for the varsity men's baseball team, aiming for national competitiveness at the Division II level. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience coaching baseball at the college level.
  • Experience motivating the scholar athlete to perform in the classroom and playing field.
  • National certification(s) for baseball coaches.

Nice To Haves

  • Head baseball coaching experience at the Division II level is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Train varsity baseball teams for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level.
  • Develop and implement a 5-year, annual, seasonal, monthly, weekly, and daily plan for practice and development.
  • Develop and implement game plans.
  • Maintain and increase knowledge of baseball training and coaching techniques.
  • Supervise the training, development, and placement of staff personnel.
  • Evaluate prospective student-athletes.
  • Develop and maintain correspondence for prospective student-athletes.
  • Schedule, coordinate and supervise official and unofficial visits of prospective student-athletes.
  • Supervise National Letter of Intent Signing and Athletic Financial Aid Contracts.
  • Monitor academic performance of student-athletes.
  • Counsel student-athletes.
  • Ensure compliance with all UCCS and NCAA regulations regarding academic eligibility requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate Division II baseball schedule within NCAA, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and institutional guidelines.
  • Supervise home game administration.
  • Plan and coordinate team travel and lodging.
  • Solicit sponsors to provide cash, merchandise and/or services.
  • Organize and sponsor tournaments and other athletic events.
  • Develop and maintain positive public relations with the University and community.
  • Project positive image of UCCS and Department of Athletics.
  • Supervise correspondence regarding UCCS baseball.
  • Promote UCCS baseball.
