About The Position

Porter-Gaud School is seeking a Head Varsity Baseball Coach for the 2026 - 2027 school year. The Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Porter-Gaud School is responsible for leading and managing the baseball program in alignment with the School's mission. This role requires a program-wide perspective, incorporating all levels of the sport, while emphasizing player development, sportsmanship, character, and teamwork.

Requirements

In-depth knowledge of baseball rules, techniques, and strategies.
Previous experience coaching (or playing) at the high school, collegiate, or professional level.
Strong ability to motivate athletes and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Ability to manage team logistics, practices, and competition schedules with efficiency.
Commitment to developing the whole student-athlete in alignment with the school's mission.

Design and execute effective training programs and practice plans.
Teach the fundamentals, techniques, and strategies of baseball.

Oversee game and practice scheduling, travel coordination, and equipment management.
Ensure a safe and structured environment during all team activities.
Maintain consistent and transparent communication with players, families, faculty, and administration.
Collaborate with the athletic department and other coaches to align with overall program goals.
Represent the School with professionalism and integrity.
Reflect and uphold the mission and values of Porter-Gaud in all coaching activities.
