About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and coordinate the activities of a specified co-curricular or extra-curricular school group or club, including the duties of any assistant advisors or volunteers. This role involves managing all aspects of the group's activities, from scheduling and supervision to financial oversight and communication with students, parents, and administrators. The Head Ballet Folklorico will be responsible for promoting the group's functions, maintaining student behavior standards, and ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment. Additionally, the position requires adherence to District Core Values, Mission, and Strategic Plan, as well as maintaining professional competence through ongoing development and accurate record-keeping.

Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • Background and Criminal History Clearance.
  • Demonstrates high level of communication skills and meets District standards for oral and written language proficiency in English, and if applicable, in Spanish or Russian.
  • Skill in leadership and facilitation, including problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent organizational skills for effectively managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Knowledge related to activities of specific group or club.
  • Employee is expected to be dressed and groomed in a neat, clean, and appropriate professional manner for the assignment and work setting.
  • May be required to obtain a First Aid and/or CPR Card and serve as a Delegated Caregiver or Designated First Aid Provider.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of the Ballet Folklorico group.
  • Supervise assistant advisors and volunteers.
  • Communicate effectively in English, and if applicable, in Spanish or Russian.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise all group activities.
  • Approve all group activities and fundraisers in conjunction with building administrator or building guidelines.
  • Promote group functions and purpose to the student body.
  • Oversee financial matters of the group, including monitoring receipt and deposit of funds and arrangements for expenditures.
  • Communicate group information and schedules to parents/guardians.
  • Maintain records and provide reports as requested.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate standards of student behavior and maintain order.
  • Notify and involve parents/guardians regarding a student’s behavior.
  • Follow all safety rules and take all reasonable precautions to provide a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Demonstrate support for District Core Values, District Mission, District Strategic Plan, and Schoolwide Improvement Plan.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and respectful learning environment and working relationship with students, staff, administration, parents/guardians, and community members.
  • Assist parents and community members as needed.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to multicultural and multilingual values and environments.
  • Comply with professional development activities as required by the District.
  • Actively seek out and participate in professional development activities designed to improve professional competence.
  • Participate in various meetings for the purpose of receiving information or sharing information and expertise.
  • Hold expectations for high performance of self and students.
  • Assess results of performance for improvement on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrate computer literacy and operate software programs as related to job responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records.
  • Maintain the integrity of confidential information.

  • Adhere to the ethical standards outlined in Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) Standards for Competent and Ethical Educators.
  • Maintain regular attendance at work and work activities, and be punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedules.
