About The Position

Go4 is accepting applications for a Head Athletic Trainer position at 5 Richmond Public High Schools in Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing athletic training services, including the evaluation and rehabilitation of injured athletes, and managing the Athletic Training Facility. This role requires approximately 30 hours per week, with coverage typically from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday, for practices, games, and athletic training room duties. Some weekend coverage and one travel season are also required.

Requirements

  • BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
  • VA State Licensure
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
  • CPR Certification (Required)
  • BOC Certification (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the overall Sports Medicine program for the school, including injury prevention, evaluation, management, treatment, rehabilitation, and educational programs for student-athletes.
  • Provide athletic training services, including attendance at scheduled team practices and home and away competitions as deemed necessary by the Athletic Director/Supervisor.
  • In coordination with the team/supervising physician(s), review pre-participation physical examinations and coordinate medical referrals for student-athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete.
  • Work in conjunction with strength and conditioning, coaching, and school staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition, and conditioning programs customized to meet individual student-athletes' needs.
  • Assist the Athletic Director with enforcing school policies and protocols.
  • Evaluate and recommend new techniques, policies, and equipment that would enhance the benefit of the existing sports medicine program.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation, as well as track daily patient encounters using provided Athlete Sign In sheets.
  • Practice in accordance with education, training, and the state's statutes, rules, and regulations, and abide by principles set forth in the NATA Code of Ethics.
