About The Position

This role is for a Department Manager at Atlantic Superstore, where the individual will contribute to shaping the future of Canadian retail and helping Canadians Live Life Well®. The position involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of a specific department, ensuring it meets sales and profitability goals. Key responsibilities include training and developing colleagues in customer service, product knowledge, and merchandising, managing merchandise stocking, display, and pricing, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating with other departments for timely replenishment. The manager is also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe department, managing departmental expenses, assisting in budget preparation, and communicating regularly with store management. Furthermore, the role involves actively recruiting talent, leading, coaching, and motivating colleagues to improve productivity, engagement, and retention, and maintaining merchandising and operational standards while building and leading diverse teams that foster an inclusive workplace.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store setting
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop colleagues
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and customer service
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time

Responsibilities
