About The Position

Maine Oxy is hiring a full-time Class A HazMat Driver to operate scheduled regional routes delivering cylinders and hard goods and returning empty cylinders for refilling. The role delivers helium compressed gas cylinders to repeat customers, maintains accurate load manifests and vehicle paperwork, conducts and documents pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and builds customer relationships while helping customers manage their cylinder needs. Drivers must follow DOT and OSHA regulations and keep the truck clean and professional. Routes depart Monday morning and run Monday through Thursday or Friday, depending on the zone. Drivers cover one of four zones per week, staying in a hotel for three to four nights rather than sleeping in the truck, and are home on weekends. The position is year-round, day shift, and overtime is typically available. The truck has a new tractor and trailer.

Requirements

Class A CDL with HazMat endorsement.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 21 years old.
At least one year of driving experience or driving school training within the past four years.
No at-fault accidents or moving violations in the past three years.
Ability to meet DOT physical qualification standards.
Ability to read Safety Data Sheets and use basic computer order entry.
Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, read highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports.
Ability to routinely lift 25 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift 76 to 100 pounds or more.
Frequent bending, standing, walking, reaching, and handling.
Ability to work outdoors in temperatures from -10 to over 100 degrees.
Ability to detect leaking gas from cylinders by sound or smell.
