About The Position
Maine Oxy has an immediate opening for a HazMat Class A Driver out of the Houston, TX area!! This position offers $28-29 hourly pay with a $3000 sign-on bonus. The role involves running a dedicated territory delivering helium cylinders to established, repeat customers. There are no cold stops, no chasing new freight, and no touch-and-go dispatching. The product is clean and non-flammable, the route is familiar weekly, and drivers are home every weekend.
Requirements
- Houston area commute distance only
- Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement
- 21 years of age, due to Hazmat requirements
- 1 year of driving experience or driving school training within the past 4 years
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, read highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports
- Routinely lift 25 to 75 lbs, occasionally 76 to 100+ lbs
- Frequent bending, standing, walking, reaching, and handling
- Outdoor work in temperatures from -10 to over 100 degrees
- Ability to detect leaking gas from cylinders by sound or smell
Responsibilities
- Safely deliver helium compressed gas cylinders to scheduled, repeat customers
- Load and unload cylinders and return empties to the fill plant
- Perform daily vehicle safety inspections
- Complete delivery paperwork and maintain DOT compliance
- Build relationships with regular customers and help manage their inventory needs
