About The Position

Community Youth Services is recruiting for a Program Counselor for its Haven House program. The Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the Program Director and ensuring the smooth operation of our services. This position involves coordinating staff communication and training, supporting lead staff and case managers, maintaining schedules, ensuring shift coverage, and overseeing various administrative tasks. Our 20+ programs help youth with: housing, placement stabilization, family preservation, foster care, education, job training, employment, independent living skills, delinquent behaviors, shelter, and basic needs. About 4,000 youth – and their families – seek services annually in their transition to become independent, successful adult members of society. Community Youth Services is the largest child welfare agency serving southwest Washington, employing over 175 staff and supporting 120 volunteers. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or closely related field, an Associate degree with two years experience, or three years of experience.
  • Experience must be direct working with youth in a residential setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Director with effective communication to staff.
  • Coordinate and facilitate staff training sessions.
  • Provide guidance on program processes and policies to staff.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with lead staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Set up and maintain staff schedules.
  • Ensure adequate shift coverage at all times.
  • Participate in on-call duty, which rotates weekly. The on-call person must find coverage or provide it themselves in case of a colleague calling out unexpectedly or during a crisis within the building. Individuals covering call carry an on-call phone and remain on-call for one full week. Additionally, there is always a designated backup on-call person, and the rotation schedule is shared among the director, case managers, and clinical case managers.
