About The Position

The Haul Truck Driver position is responsible for operating Articulated Haul Trucks in a safe and appropriate manner. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment/trucks. Work will be performed per the supervisor’s instruction, free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs. The Haul Truck Driver is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and securing his/her Haul Truck. The role involves operating trucks to transport and/or stockpile dirt, aggregate, and other materials and/or equipment to various locations on the job site. The driver will use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources, ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures, and help identify hazardous conditions on the job site. Other duties include performing daily safety and maintenance checks, cleaning trucks as scheduled, maintaining the haul truck and advising the supervisor of any maintenance or repair requirements, reporting any damage immediately, using the haul truck for its intended purpose with little or no assistance, maintaining and turning in daily records of loads hauled, and ensuring trucks and equipment are safely and securely stored.

Requirements

A valid driver license.
Experience with A45 Volvo Articulation Haul Truck.
Experience with Cat 740 & 745 Articulation Haul Truck equipment safety.
Knowledge of and ability to maintain truck/equipment and follow related procedures.
Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand.
Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work independently or as a team member successfully.
Ability to ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
Ability to meet project schedule with dependability and consistency.
Ability to wear protective clothing.

Nice To Haves
