About The Position

This role is responsible for various tasks within the hatchery, including vaccine preparation and administration, chick counting and reconciliation, cleaning and sanitization of equipment and facilities, and adhering to biosecurity and safety rules. The position requires physical stamina for lifting, pushing, and pulling, as well as the ability to work in a dusty environment and on holidays. Teamwork and the ability to work without supervision are essential. Occasional overtime may be required.

Requirements

Must be able to lift baskets weighing 25 lbs. to a height of more than 80 inches.
Must be able to push/pull carts weighing in excess of 1,000 lbs. on rollers.
Must not own a flock of poultry (unless Tyson flock).
Must be able to work in a dusty environment.
Must be able to work most holidays.
Must be able to work well with others, without supervision.
Occasional overtime.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
If you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.

Responsibilities

Mix correct dosage of New Castle bronchitis vaccine prior to the beginning of chick run.
Keep vaccine bags at adequate levels to assure all chicks are receiving the vaccine.
Make a random physical count of chicks in basket to assure accuracy of machine counters.
Check between 5-20 baskets on each line throughout the day and record this number on the counter reconciliation and injury report sheet.
Compare actual hatched and percentage on the daily hatch sheet at each flock change.
Verify actual number hatched after the run is complete and complete the daily sheet, then turn it in to supervisor.
Clean and sanitize counters and conveyor system.
Wash overhead fans and ventilation ducts.
Wash and clean the floor.
Abide by all biosecurity rules.
Abide by all departmental safety rules.
Complete any required tasks after submitting the application.
