About The Position

The Hatchery Worker position is a full-time role on the 1st shift, operating on a 4-day work week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) with hours varying from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or until finished. The starting pay is $16.90 per hour. This role involves significant physical labor, including moving heavy racks of product (approximately 900 lbs. or greater) throughout the facility, maintaining a clean and safe workspace through various sanitation tasks, and practicing safe egg and chick handling while promoting proper Animal Welfare Guidelines. The job requires the ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods, work in environments with allergens and varying temperatures/humidity, and maintain a flexible schedule. This position is classified as Heavy Lifting due to the nature of moving rolling racks.

Requirements

  • Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl (e.g., yard chickens, pheasants, parakeets, parrots, etc.).
  • Animal Welfare background check is required.
  • Applicants must be from Carroll, Newton, Boone & Stone County in Arkansas, or within a 50-mile radius of the Green Forest Truck Shop facility.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 30 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull and reach for long periods of time- up to 10 + hours a shift.
  • Must be able to work in an area with a high concentration of allergens such as chick down, dust etc.
  • Will be working in a climate ranging from cold to hot temperatures with high humidity.

Responsibilities

  • Moving racks of product weighing approximately 900 lbs. or greater consistently throughout the day, approximately 48 racks, and or boxes throughout the facility.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
  • Operating machinery, counting, reading, scrubbing, soaping, rinsing, disinfecting, mopping, or buffing to meet all sanitation requirements.
  • Practicing safe and delicate egg and chick handling.
  • Promoting and practicing proper Animal Welfare Guidelines.
  • Completing all tasks or duties as assigned by management.
