The purpose of this position is to clean and disinfect the interior and exterior of hatchers, eliminating all chick debris and bacteria. This role involves scraping, scrubbing, shoveling out chick down, spraying with a pressure hose, applying acid at times, and disinfecting. The Hatcher Washer is responsible for cleaning the hatcher hallway daily and climbing on top of hatchers to ensure they are clean. They must also keep all equipment in a clean and usable condition and maintain production requirements by cleaning out 35-40 hatchers per shift. Additionally, the role includes unloading and re-loading buggies from hatchers. The position requires participation as a member of a team, fostering cohesiveness, accepting responsibility, and identifying areas that lack cohesion. Team members are expected to support the team leader and work collaboratively to resolve issues and achieve synergy. Familiarity with Simmons' operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies) is expected, along with understanding the impact of individual actions and communicating concerns or improvement ideas.
