About The Position
This position ensures only quality product remains on the line and that piece counts meet customer specifications. The role involves visually grading product, removing defective items, and ensuring products meet customer requirements for quality, weight, or count. The Grader participates as a member of the team, contributing to team concepts, programs, and policies, and fostering cohesiveness. They are expected to be familiar with Simmons' operating systems and their role in supporting them, communicating concerns and improvement ideas. The position also includes performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives.
Requirements
- Must have basic math skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Visually grade product being dropped onto the line.
- Ensures only quality products remain on line.
- Removes defective product off line and places it into identified defect groups.
- Ensures the product meets customer requirements such as quality, weight or count.
- Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and resolving issues.
- Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems and understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity and communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
- Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
