This posting is for the Harvest Room Labor position which Hangs live birds in a shackle. It is scheduled for 2nd Shift. Located after the cage dumper, this is the first chain-driven operation. The live hanger position removes a bird from the hanging belt, by grasping a chicken first by one leg and then the other leg. Once positioned, breast side away from hanger, they will hang the bird by both legs into a shackle. Hang rate varies by bird weight. All live hangers will rotate positions from front to back. The hangers will place any DOA’s into DOA barrel at end of conveyor. This job checks for bones and excess fat attached. Removes bones with a knife and pulls off the extra fat with the hand or trims it with the knife.
