About The Position

This position is for a Harvest Room Laborer on the 1st shift. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, including understanding job safety analyses and promoting a safety-first culture. The individual will be trained in safety hazard recognition and perform daily department safety inspections, acting as a "Safety Leader." Responsibilities include hanging birds at a high rate, keeping the area clean, performing all jobs on the back dock, and other duties assigned by a supervisor. The work environment can be dusty, hot, wet, cold, and humid. Applicants must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Requirements

  • Must be committed to working safely at all times.
  • Must display a working knowledge of the job safety analysis.
  • Must promote a culture of safety to others.
  • Must be willing to train in safety hazard recognition.
  • Must be willing to perform daily department safety inspections.
  • Must be able to hang up to 28 birds a minute rotating with 2 other people.
  • Must keep birds picked up and area clean while rotating.
  • Must be able to perform all jobs on back dock.
  • Full use of hands and arms.
  • Repetitive motion of hands.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to perform pulling, pushing, bending, walking, stooping, reaching, gripping, and squatting.
  • Lifting up to 40 lbs or more.
  • Provide government identification number for Tyson employment history verification.
  • Applicants must complete a task after submitting their application to provide additional information.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Tyson employment history (system will verify).
  • Not having worked more than two previous times for Tyson (for rehires).
