About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Harness Manufacturing Engineering Professional to join our EWIS team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work jointly with the methods, in service engineering and wire harness suppliers to review and determine the wire harness manufacturing and installation process standards. You will be part of the EWIS team responsible for developing construction standards and process standards for EWIS harness manufacturing and installation. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively. Your role as Harness Manufacturing Engineering Professional will be to drive production quality and efficiency by defining all construction standards, managing critical manufacturing tooling, and ensuring producible installation methods for our EWIS wire harnesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in wire harness fabrication, process definition, tooling management, and installation support (Aerospace/Defense preferred)
  • Expert-level knowledge and practical application of Aerospace Industry Wiring Standards and acceptance criteria
  • Deep understanding of crimp technology, Crimp Height Measurement (CMH) control, and associated specifications
  • Proficiency in standard tools mandatory for the job
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma and automated test systems
  • Certification or specialized training in recognized aerospace wiring workmanship standards

Responsibilities

  • Define and audit Manufacturing Process Instructions and Standard Work for all harness assembly phases
  • Mandate and audit compliance with aerospace wiring quality and acceptance standards (termination, splicing, bundle dressing)
  • Define and control critical quality requirements, including Crimp Height Measurement (CMH) specifications
  • Specify, validate, and manage all precision manufacturing tooling and the Tool Calibration and Gauge Control Program
  • Develop and optimize Installation Process Instructions to minimize risks of chafing, bending, and improper clamping
  • Define standards for the use of mounting hardware (e.g., clamps, tie-wraps, protective sleeves) during final installation
