About The Position

SCCI is looking for a Hardware Test Engineer to join our team! In this position you will work with the Hardware Test Group supporting the development of the Battle Management System’s family of Weapon Control hardware and Tactical products. In this position, you will work closely with the Mechanical, Electrical, and Embedded Software Engineering teams. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline; Degree requirements may be waived for Candidates with direct hands-on experience with a weapon system application
  • Three (3) years of full-time experience with designing, implementing and executing comprehensive test procedures as well as the ability to use test tools to perform requirements verification, environment validation and system performance testing
  • Two (2) years of full time experience with DoD weapon systems
  • Must be able to work extended hours during travel (up to 16 hours/day)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting hardware products containing embedded electronics in a professional engineering environment
  • Experience with the operation, testing, maintenance, and sustainment of weapons and munitions
  • Experience integrating and testing networked capabilities on tactical assets
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting hardware on tactical platforms
  • Able to balance multiple task sets and work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent electrical test and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent solder and rework skills
  • Experience with Electrical and Mechanical technical drawing packages

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications desired but not mandatory: IPC-610 certified
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certified
  • IPC-7711 and IPC-7721 certified
  • J-STD-001 certified

Responsibilities

  • Developing and documenting methodologies for hardware weapon control systems integration and verification
  • Assessing Hardware performance criteria and provide input for improving manufacturability
  • Supporting the hardware development effort with time-critical requests for hardware product testing and troubleshooting
  • Communicating with engineers and program leadership orally and in writing
  • Developing and communicating test plans, progress and performance results both orally and in writing
  • Understanding, navigating, and verifying technical drawing packages
  • Diagnosing hardware and software issues while identifying trends in equipment failure
  • Conducting professional inspections of incoming Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Electro-Mechanical box assemblies
  • Operating electrical testing devices: Oscilloscopes, signal generators, cable continuity tester, Ohm meter, power supply
  • Participating in the installation and assessment of the system conducted locally and remotely
  • Coordinate and conduct Hardware certification testing (HCT), Acceptance testing (ATP), and Environmental testing
  • Verifying hardware and software configurations before product deployment to customer
