Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Candidate must be able to read and write in English.
  • Ability to Mig/Tig weld all alloys applicable to hardware.
  • Ability to read blueprints and fabricate hardware accordingly.
  • Must be able to operate mobile equipment, i.e. fork lift and/or walkie.
  • Must be able to operate various equipment including; grinders, drill presses, millers, shears, rollers, presses, as well as all standard welding/cutting equipment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to manage job time constraints and work several overlapping tasks concurrently.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of computer systems is desired. (Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing).
  • Strong working knowledge of furnaces and processes desired.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and repairing all furnace hardware, including retorts, racks, fixtures, etc.
  • Review, along with Engineers, all prints pertaining to hardware fabrication.
  • Investigate and suggest ways to improve hardware or the materials used.
  • Process all furnace tooling per internal specifications for inspection, repair, and maintenance schedules.
  • Evaluate tooling for disposition.
  • Perform repairs as required.
  • Maintain Repair Shop Work Log.
  • Maintain a Tooling History Log for all furnace tooling.
  • Receives new tooling from Shipping/Receiving.
  • Inspect and approve all incoming furnace hardware purchased, relative to blueprints.
  • Release tooling to production with engineering approval.
  • Complete and maintain all internal paperwork and logs, as needed pertaining to hardware.
  • Identify all tooling when acquired for the History Log.
  • Maintain, control and identify specific consumable material and adequate inventory needed to repair or replace damaged hardware.
  • Inspect, maintain, evaluate, and repair of all furnace tooling.
  • Perform daily inspection of all cranes and mobile equipment in work area.
  • Adhere to all company safety rules and practices and wears protective equipment as directed
  • Keep work area clean according to 6’S standards.
  • Will perform other job duties as needed or directed by Tooling Engineer and/or management.
