About The Position

Designing, prototyping, building, and validating electrical designs throughout our product development cycle, and working with teams across Apple to integrate those designs into Apple WATCH. Working on System electrical design, schematic capture and PCB layout design, as well as Prototype bring up and debugging. Functional and performance verification of hardware designs using common EE test equipment (including oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers). Hands-on debugging and failure analysis of manufacturing, design, and reliability issues. Providing Factory build support from early NPI through product ramp. Reporting on and presenting status of hardware issues to management and cross-functional forums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation
  • 2 years of experience utilizing Cadence tools (or industry equivalent) for schematic capture and constraint-driven PCB layout design
  • 2 years of experience utilizing common EE test equipment (including but not limited to) oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, DMM, and power analyzers)
  • 2 years of experience bringing up and debugging new hardware designs
  • 2 years of experience integrating electrical designs or subsystems (such as audio, sensors, radio, or power electronics) into hardware systems
  • 2 years of experience designing, performing schematic capture, and guiding PCB layout of hardware systems
  • 2 years of experience performing hardware failure analysis and implementing corrective actions, including working with component suppliers to resolve issues
  • 2 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional or interdisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical engineers, software/firmware engineering), to design and validate product or system performance
  • 2 years of experience utilizing common communication protocols, including standard GPIO signaling, I2C, and SPI
