About The Position

This is a full-time Hardware Supervisor position at the Yorkton Agro Centre. The role involves delivering legendary customer service and ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests. The supervisor will be responsible for managing staff, overseeing daily operations, and maintaining merchandise. The position requires a Grade 12 certificate, a valid Class 5 Driver's licence, and retail experience in customer service and merchandising. Knowledge of Agro/Hardware operations and supervisory experience are considered assets. The role also requires the ability to work various shifts, including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends, and involves physical demands such as heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and kneeling. Confidentiality, strong communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s licence and maintain it throughout the employment
  • Retail experience in the areas of customer service and merchandising
  • Excellent communication, collaborating/building relationships and customer service skills
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Can work with minimum supervision in the general day -to- day duties and discuss and builds consensus with the Manager on complex situations in the centre
  • Willing and able to work all shifts scheduled including days, evenings, holidays and weekends
  • Maintain good physical condition, physically able to do heavy lifting of 50 lbs, climb ladders and kneel
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Agro/Hardware operations and willing to expand their knowledge in this area
  • 1-year supervisory experience
  • WHMIS, TDG, OHC 1 & 2, Supervision & Safety, Power Mobile Equipment Training, Propane, Pesticide Dispenser Licence or willing to take

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and delegating employee’s workflow and duties while ensuring all staff are following safety standards as well as Legacy Co-op's policies and procedures.
  • Completing reviews on Team Members - plan, monitor and review Team Member performance as it relates to the Performance Management process.
  • Onboarding and training new staff along with providing ongoing and frequent communication and coaching.
  • Demonstrating leadership in the operation of customer service, upselling, cross – promoting by being knowledgeable and up to date about merchandise.
  • Assisting with candidate interviews and resolving escalated customer complaints as needed.
  • Managing efficiently general Agro centre duties as required - stocking, receiving, ordering, opening, closing, operate POS system, displaying merchandise, inventory management and file maintenance.
  • Performing merchandise claims efficiently for returned, damaged or product warranty issues.
