The Role Are you looking for an opportunity to lead a team that forages how we optimize hardware and software solutions in our vehicles? As a Hardware Simulation EGM, you will manage a team of Hardware Simulation architects that focuses on optimizing key hardware parameters with software in virtual environments. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with vehicle hardware components, systems engineering, and CAE, with a proven track record of strong leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or related Engineering discipline (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product development, systems engineering, or work related to software/hardware connectivity.
  • Technical knowledge of GVHE components and vehicle-level integration
  • Proven executive-level communication and storytelling skills
  • Strong experience leading or coaching others.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and align cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong track record of structured problem solving, risk management, and decisive execution
  • Experience managing program scope, timelines, budgets, and VDP/GVDP milestones
  • Familiarity with GM Vehicle Program processes, tools, and deliverables
  • Consistent demonstration of GM Behaviors, including integrity, collaboration, resilience, accountability, and continuous learning

Responsibilities

  • Lead team in progressing hardware/software parameter optimization in virtual environments.
  • Lead strategic projects that drive toward a fully optimized future state of hardware/software integration in our vehicles.
  • Present status of ongoing simulation work and strategic projects to various levels of leadership.
  • Coach & lead team members and cross-functional partners in the use of MBSE and plant model tools.
  • Drive an enterprise mindset in collaboration with hardware product development, software, electrical, systems engineering, VDDV, and IT/data teams.
  • Identify & lead staffing initiatives.
  • Part of the duties will include conducting regularly scheduled group meetings, communicating GM policies & procedures, leadership and safety messages.
  • You will craft specific to functional communication on vision & strategy, which may include preparing and giving presentations.
  • Ensures employees are in compliance with all mandatory GM training and any specific training related to functional responsibility.
  • You will need to understands & support employee's career development goals as well as develop and execute initiatives to improve work team capability and increase work team capacity.
  • Assigns and stabilizes workload for direct reports.
  • You will also set individual employee and group priorities.
  • Offer direct hires, candid & constructive feedback and facilitate performance interventions when necessary.
  • Formally & informally recognize employee's contributions.
  • Timely and consistent feedback to direct employee's as appropriate will be required.
  • As manager, you will also participate in compensation planning and administer compensation treatment.
  • Observes and steps up to remove roadblocks and resolve potential issues.
