About The Position

Marvell’s Cloud Platform Optics team develops integrated component platforms combining high-speed silicon photonics, transmit and receive amplifiers, controller ASICs with Marvell DSPs, and embedded firmware. The team designs, verifies, and validates high-speed optical components, conducts system-level testing under varied operating conditions, and validates hardware, firmware, and control-loop performance. Team members contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from inception through NPI.

The Hardware Signal Integrity Intern will support the design, development, and testing of electrical hardware for optical modules and other AI platforms. The role includes hands-on hardware testing and debugging, participation in validation and verification activities, and assistance with design documentation such as schematics, PCB layouts, and bills of materials.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation date from Fall 2027 through Summer 2028.
• Completed coursework in electrical engineering, circuit design, and programming.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
• Proficiency using lab equipment and a good understanding of electrical measurement and testing methodologies.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout, such as Allegro or OrCAD.
• Interest in developing platform solutions for the AI market.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, development, and testing of electrical hardware for optical modules and other AI platforms.
• Perform hands-on testing and debugging of hardware components using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal analyzers.
• Participate in hardware validation and verification, including debugging and troubleshooting.
• Help develop and maintain design documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, and bills of materials.
