About The Position

This role is responsible for learning and adhering to safety protocols, performing quality checks during hardware picking and packaging, communicating effectively with various departments, and handling various hardware-related and packaging tasks. The trainee will learn to manage inventory, prepare orders, and ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
  • Perform quality checks during hardware picking and packaging to ensure correct quantities and meet standards.
  • Distinguish and explain between different levels of defects according to Bobrick’s 4 Grade Quality System.
  • Communicate effectively with production supervisors, purchasing staff, shipping department, and other team members regarding orders, hardware, and inventory.
  • Transport materials from receiving areas to storage or other designated areas.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Use computer systems to verify amounts of items received or distributed.
  • Complete required documentation for received or distributed items.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks or shelves according to sequence.
  • Rotate stock using the first-in, first-out method.
  • Properly store hardware components in designated areas, ensuring organization, labeling, and accessibility.
  • Understand and utilize scanning procedures for hardware.
  • Pick, scan, and pack hardware according to job and brand requirements.
  • Operate tape machines to secure packages.
  • Pull consumable hardware (extrusions, inserts, screws, receivers) for orders.
  • Coordinate logistics related to powder-coating.
  • Build hardware kits based on job requirements and specifications.
  • Determine which parts need powder-coating, disassemble and reassemble hardware as needed.
  • Pull and prepare hardware and extrusions for the Emmegi Center.
  • Send material shortage emails when orders may need to be shipped incomplete.
  • Prepare hardware for inter-company transfers.
  • Conduct periodic cycle counts on in-house inventory.
  • Prepare for annual physical inventory.
  • Keep up with inventory at the off-site warehouse.
  • Sort production paperwork in priority order, notate special instructions, and stage in proper locations.
  • Perform various packaging tasks for Bobrick Partitions, Privada, and Thrislington.
  • Pull required hardware, including headrails, for orders onto a pallet before packing.
  • Use pallet banding and wrapping equipment to secure toilet partition orders.
  • Operate hand tools and pallet jacks (tape machine, pallet banding and wrapping material, Miter Saw).
  • Operate miter saw and vertical A/S saw to modify packing material for crates.
  • Apply necessary shipping labels, packing slips, and other documentation accurately.
  • Check and complete necessary paperwork before shipment.
  • Keep packing areas clean, organized, and free of clutter.
  • Handle pallets and restock packaging supplies.
