About The Position

Reporting to the HABS Commodity Manager and Hardware Manager, the Hardware Manager Trainee is responsible for providing an exceptional level of customer service and maintaining a safe and efficient operation while adhering to all company policies, procedures, and standards, including meeting established productivity standards. This role will oversee adherence to brand and merchandising standards, image standards, safety, and asset protection within the Hardware Department. The trainee will be responsible for preparing, administering, and achieving budgeted goals as it relates to the pricing, sales, margins, expenses, and inventory of the commodity. They will provide leadership to the hardware team, including recruitment, goal setting, performance management, training, and development of team members. The role involves building strong customer relationships and delivering solutions, overseeing and monitoring client satisfaction levels, ensuring customer issues are resolved, and identifying areas for improvement. Additionally, the trainee will lead the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies to drive growth in hardware product lines and develop and maintain strong relationships with external customers and contractors to drive sales growth. The trainee will also oversee the completion and follow-through of all safety and environmental policies and procedures, ensuring standards are achieved, and will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of all safety, maintenance, and asset protection policies.

Requirements

  • Experience in the retail, hardware, or material industry.
  • Knowledge of commodity sales, gross margin, and inventory management.
  • Honest and trustworthy.

Responsibilities
