About The Position

The Hardware Engineering Manager leads a multidisciplinary hardware team responsible for the design, development, validation, and lifecycle management of products. This role oversees technical execution, fosters innovation, ensures engineering excellence, and collaborates closely with cross‑functional partners—including Systems, Software, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain—to deliver high‑performance, reliable hardware solutions. This position reports to the Head of Hardware and is part of Biopharma Solutions located in Loveland, CO and will be an on-site role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field)
  • 7+ years of industry experience, with 3+ years in a leadership position, leading engineering teams and managing complex technical programs of electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Strong understanding of hardware product development cycles, including feasibility, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g., SolidWorks/CAD platforms, simulation tools, test measurement systems).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance (ISO, FDA, etc.).
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 20lb

Nice To Haves

  • Customer insight gathering and have a strong desire to interact with customers
  • Knowledge of systems engineering practices, DFMEA/PFMEA, and reliability engineering.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of hardware engineers (electrical and mechanical).
  • Drive a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide coaching to support professional development growth.
  • Drive technical excellence and ensure compliance with industry standards that meet customer needs.
  • Coordinate efforts across R&D, manufacturing, service, product management, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration into the overall product ecosystem.
  • Gather insights from customers, alongside product management and align to hardware architecture framework for projects in new product development.
