About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on advancing Hardware Technologies for the Precision Strike (PS) organization. This role offers significant opportunities to gain in-depth knowledge of PS technology and architecture, and to apply this knowledge in a team environment to develop cutting-edge military product solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hardware development, transition to production, and qualification testing practices, with a proven ability to lead teams in achieving complex design objectives. The manager will be responsible for mentoring Hardware Engineers, providing career guidance, and conducting performance feedback. They will also oversee the team's overall performance to meet business objectives, participate in interviewing and hiring new team members to ensure appropriate staffing and skill sets, and collaborate with other leaders, Program Managers, and business development to influence roadmaps and understand market needs. Technical skills will be leveraged to ensure design, implementation, and sustainment solutions exceed customer expectations. Opportunities for technical engagement include architecture and design reviews, strategic initiative implementation, bid and proposal development, and next-generation solution planning. The manager will also guide career advancement, promote development initiatives, and foster best practices across the Hardware Engineering discipline, setting a positive example for collaboration and success. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline, or Masters of Science
  • Current US Citizenship is required
  • Must be able to obtain a DoW Security Clearance
  • Experience in a people manager role or a matrix leader role on a development project
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Hardware Design experience
  • Product Transition to Production Experience
  • Experience in overall successful project execution and oversight
  • Experience creating project plans and setting up project schedules
  • Experience identifying, hiring, and training staff for project execution
  • Experience in supporting pursuit activities, including bids and proposals
  • Ability to guide employees through complicated or difficult situations effectively and professionally
  • Experience presenting to technical audiences
  • Highly motivated to solve complex problems and continuously improve
  • Solid understanding of hardware development approach
  • Solid understanding of transition to production
  • Solid understanding of qualification testing practices
  • Proven track record of leading teams either directly or indirectly to achieve complex design objectives
  • Passion to help coach and mentor Hardware Engineers to grow
