Assertive Professionals is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to support a National Security Customer near Hanover, MD. This is a funded and immediate position. The role involves designing and testing new integrated circuits and hardware components for signal processing applications, designing and developing code (including firmware) for digital signal processors and programmable hardware devices like ASICs and FPGAs. It also includes analyzing existing hardware for reverse engineering, modifying vendor-manufactured hardware for government needs, conducting design analysis for cost efficiency and reliability, and communicating with engineering personnel for project coordination. The engineer will apply ASIC or FPGA place and route (P&R) tools, develop documentation for P&R design flows, assist with de-processing electronic components and retrieving firmware/software, integrate new P&R tools and libraries into the government's CAD environment, and work with vendors to resolve P&R design challenges. The position also requires performing de-processing of electronic components and retrieving firmware/software, leading designs, providing technical leadership, and directing/checking the work of other hardware design engineers. The role includes acting as an internal consultant and overseeing de-processing procedures, as well as developing novel reverse engineering procedures.
