This is a funded and immediate position offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus, $2,000 in reimbursable relocation expenses, and a $1,200 annual compliance bonus. The role involves designing and testing new integrated circuits and hardware components for signal processing applications, designing and developing code (including firmware) for digital signal processors and programmable hardware devices like ASICs and FPGAs. Responsibilities also include analyzing existing hardware for reverse engineering, modifying vendor-manufactured hardware for government needs, and assisting with the design and improvement of products and processes. The engineer will conduct design analysis, communicate with other engineering personnel, apply ASIC or FPGA place and route (P&R) tools, develop documentation for P&R design flows, and assist with de-processing electronic components to retrieve firmware or software. Additionally, the role involves integrating new P&R tools and libraries into the government's CAD environment, working with vendors to resolve design challenges, and providing technical leadership and guidance to less experienced engineers, including directing and checking their work.
